Project Background
In 2024, a Chilean brand—a global player in the geosynthetics industry specializing in products such as geotextiles, geomembranes, and piping materials—sought to upgrade its capabilities.
With operations spanning local infrastructure projects and global markets, the company faced a challenge: evolving international export standards meant its existing quality inspection system could no longer meet the compliance requirements of high-end markets. There was an urgent need to establish a dedicated, standardized laboratory to enhance product testing and R&D technical support capabilities.
Prior to this collaboration, the company relied on external third-party agencies for product testing. While this met basic needs, it resulted in a passive testing workflow, inconsistent standards, and a lack of in-house testing and R&D capabilities. The absence of a systematic internal quality control framework and a basis for export compliance testing made it difficult to meet the specific market entry standards of various overseas regions. Furthermore, the lack of a mature laboratory setup plan hindered product quality iteration and expansion into high-end markets.
Customized Solution and Efficient Implementation
To address the brand's core needs—upgrading in-house quality control and unifying export testing standards—we tailored a comprehensive solution for laboratory construction and systematic quality control enhancement.
We systematically analyzed the client's existing testing workflows and historical data. Aligning these with compliance regulations across their target global markets and the specific characteristics of their geotextiles, geomembranes, and piping materials, we established an end-to-end internal control system. This system covers everything from raw material verification and in-process sampling to finished product testing, supported by appropriate professional testing equipment and standardized operating procedures (SOPs).
Leveraging our efficient project execution capabilities, we managed the entire process—including solution design, equipment selection, technical guidance, and system implementation—in just one month, helping the company establish an independent, standardized laboratory for product testing and R&D.
Project Outcomes and Industry Impact
With the new laboratory in place, the client moved away from a passive reliance on third-party testing, achieving autonomous control over quality inspections and standardized testing protocols. This effectively optimized quality control processes, stabilized product quality and shipment consistency, and provided standardized, traceable testing data to support global export compliance certifications, client factory audits, and market qualification reviews.
Thanks to its rigorous construction standards and comprehensive quality control system, the laboratory has established itself as a premier benchmark in Chile’s geosynthetics industry. It has attracted numerous industry peers for visits, exchanges, and learning opportunities regarding standardized quality control practices, thereby building a strong reputation and further reinforcing the client's professional influence within the Latin American market.
